We've heard what Swae Lee sounds like without his Rae Sremmurd brother Slim Jxmmi on collabs with French Montana and Ty Dolla $ign, but the 22-year-old singer/rapper has finally unveiled what he can do all on his own with his debut solo single, "Hurt To Look," which dropped on Wednesday night (February 28).

"Hurt to Look" was produced by E.Y, FWD and Bizness Boi and hears the half of the hip-hop duo dive into a landscape of island vibes and lush vocals. On the four-minute cut, Swae sings about how he has disconnected from a lover and is helplessly looking for something substantial to connect with. "It shouldn't hurt to look your way (your way, ah-ah, ah)/ I shouldn't have to catch a case (ah-ah, ah yeah)/ 'Cause I'm the one that can't stand to feel any more pain (ah-ah, ooh)," he croons during the breezy chorus.

"I knew [Swae Lee] was working on Rae Sremmurd's next project as well as Swaecation, so I sent a mixture of hard, trap-inspired beats, as well as the left-field, more uptempo and dance inspired-feel-good sounding tracks," producer Bizness Boi said in a press release. "I noticed he kept recording to the feel-good ones, so I kept making those and sending them over. The moment I realized I had something with Swae was after I DM'd him asking if he'd heard any of them. He responded, ‘You may already have two on my album, keep sending,' and the rest was history."

The track is expected to appear on Swae Lee's Swaecation side project, which will serve as one part of a triple-disc album alongside Slim Jxmmi's Jxmtroduction and Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 3. "SremmLife three is a Triple disk one side RaeSremmurd, one side Slim Jxmmi, and one side Swae Lee wanted to put a twist on this album," Swae tweeted.

In addition to "Hurt To Look," Wednesday night also saw the release of Jxmmi's solo record "Brxnks Truck" and the brothers' collective track, "Powerglide," featuring Juicy J.
